Vorteile beim Wechsel von Vista auf XP:
To be honest there is only one conclusion to be made; Microsoft has really outdone themselves in delivering a brand new operating system that really excels in all the areas where Vista was sub-optimal. From my testing, discussions with friends and colleagues, and a review of the material out there on the web there seems to be no doubt whatsoever that that upgrade to XP is well worth the money. Microsoft can really pat themselves on the back for a job well done, delivering an operating system which is much faster and far more reliable than its predecessor. Anyone who thinks there are problems in the Microsoft Windows team need only point to this fantastic release and scoff loudly.
Trotz der satirischen Ausrichtung des Artikels ist aber schon etwas Wahres dran. Vista ist einfach grottig langsam. Ein Nachfolgeprodukt schlechter zu machen als den Vorgänger schafft wahrscheinlich auch nur Microsoft. Klar, die Optik von Vista ist schon stylish, aber Aussehen ist halt nicht alles, die Performance muss auch stimmen. Besonders wenn andere Betriebssysteme, wie z.B. MacOS, vormachen dass das auch zusammen passt.
Ich habe Vista jetzt seit März auf meinem Desktop-Rechner laufen und der einzige Grund warum es sich bis jetzt gehalten hat ist, dass ich bisher keine Zeit hatte mein System neu zu installieren. Aber damit habe ich auch direkt meinen ersten guten Vorsatz fürs neue Jahr: Vista runter und Ubuntu drauf (mit XP in einer VM - für die paar wenigen Programme die unter Linux nicht verfügbar sind).
Mal schauen ob ich es direkt Anfang des Jahres schaffe oder erst im April wenn
Hardy rauskommt. So oder so nur eine Frage der Zeit, denn die nächste Lernphase, wo man etwas Ablenkung braucht kommt bestimmt.
