Es gibt Bugs da kann man nur den Kopf schütteln oder in die Tischkante beißen:
Adobe CS3 applications crash at launch on Mac OS 10.6.3
When you launch Adobe CS3 applications on Apple's Mac OS 10.6.3, the applications crash or quit unexpectedly. This is due to a conflict among Creative Suite 3, Mac OS 10.6.3, and a library Adobe uses for CS3. Other non-Adobe applications that use this library should have the same issue.
There are two conditions that trigger this behavior.
The first is when the system serial number doesn't have a valid number, but instead has a value such as "System Serial#," or "SystemSerialNumb." An incomplete serial number can also be a trigger. Complete and valid serial numbers should be exactly 12 alpha-numeric characters Invalid serial numbers can be set into a computer when the computer is refurbished or repaired, and the original system serial number is unavailable. The second cause is when applications are set to run in Rosetta mode. For this case, see solution 3.
Blöd nur wenn es einen selbst betrifft. Bei meinem Uni-Mac wurde nämlich mal das Board getauscht und meine Seriennummer ist seit dem wohl "System Serial#". Bis man erstmal darauf kommt, dass die spontanen Abstürze von Acrobat Pro NICHT an Acrobat sondern an Mac OS X liegen ...
Die Möglichkeiten das zu fixen sind auch eher beschränkt. Entweder irgendwie, irgendwo von einer Apple-zertifizierten Computerreparatur-Klitsche meine Seriennummer wieder herstellen lassen (einschicken dauert zu lange), warten bis 10.6.4 rauskommt (geplanter Releasetermin ist Frühsommer) oder drauf hoffen das das Institut Adobe CS5 anschafft. Ok, es gibt auch noch dubiose Tools online mit der man die Seriennummer im NVRAM schreiben kann, aber das ist mir dann doch etwas zu heikel bei meinem Arbeitsgerät.
